About Koinos
Developed by Koinos Group, Koinos is the free-to-use, general purpose blockchain designed to be the world’s most accessible and user-friendly blockchain by an order of magnitude. Koinos Group was founded in 2020 and is led by a team of blockchain veterans from the core development team of the Steem blockchain. The Koinos blockchain enables developers to create free-to-use decentralized applications (dApps) using any programming language, lowering the barriers to entry for decentralized innovation. This makes it easier and faster to launch high-performance applications with user experiences on par with Web2 applications. Launched without an Initial Coin Offering, Koinos has been decentralized from day one, and seeks to make blockchain technology accessible to all.
Leadership
Originally trained as an attorney, Andrew launched GiverHub.com in 2012; an online portal for charitable giving and the first social network with its own cryptocurrency. In 2016 he joined Steemit, where he eventually became the Head of Communications and Marketing. Along with the core developers of the Steem blockchain, Andrew left Steemit and started Koinos Group with the goal of delivering a state-of-the-art, free-to-use blockchain capable of furthering their mission to accelerate decentralization through accessibility. He has been a featured speaker at a number of events, including Product Hunt’s Virtual Web3 Panel and the 2021 Reimagine Conference. In addition, he has appeared on podcasts such as Show me the Crypto and the Hackernoon podcast, and is a regular featured contributor at Cointelegraph.
Steve Gerbino is a software engineer who was a critical contributor to the Steem blockchain. His work at Steemit as a Blockchain Engineer included the development and implementation of MIRA (Multi Index Rocksdb Adapter). He serves as Chief Technology Officer and is a co-founder of Koinos.
Formerly the Senior Blockchain Engineer at Steemit, Michael led the design and development of MIRA (Multi Index Rocksdb Adapter) and a number of critical scaling solutions. Michael is the top code contributor to both the Steem and Hive blockchains. He is a co-founder of Koinos.
Formerly Blockchain Engineer at Steemit. His work at Steemit as a Blockchain Engineer included the development and implementation of essential technologies for the Steem blockchain. He also has experience in Nuclear Physics and Biometrics. He is a co-founder of Koinos.
Ron Hamenahem, the Chief Operating Officer of Koinos Group, is an entrepreneur with 13 years of design and information technology experience. He previously worked as the Head of Design at OpenOrchard.
