Zilliqa launches gaming console with embedded Web3 wallet and mining capabilities

LONDON. October 2022 – Zilliqa, the high-performance, high-security, and low-fee Layer-1 blockchain protocol, announces the launch of its hardware gaming console and gaming hub with an embedded Web3 wallet specifically for blockchain games. Effortlessly integrating Web3 capabilities, such as mining, the two products will pave the way to onboard millions of players to Zilliqa’s gaming ecosystem.

Onboarding gamers into blockchain gaming has been problematic due to the challenge of setting up a Web3 wallet as a non-crypto native. It creates a divide between quality games and games with Web3 integration. An additional obstacle has been the lack of a player-friendly central hub for blockchain games, which currently launch independently or are scattered around multiple digital storefronts.

After six months of researching, designing, and prototyping, Zilliqa is sharing its first prototype of the gaming console and gaming hub. The system differentiates itself by masking the complexities of blockchain technology, thereby enabling non-crypto natives to be effortlessly onboarded so they can earn money while playing fun games. 

Zilliqa’s products within its gaming ecosystem include:

• Hardware Console: The console provides access to a variety of Web3 games, including exclusive access to all of Zilliqa’s games. In the near future, players will be able to mine ZIL tokens and earn money while playing games. The console can eventually pay for itself once players are rewarded for their skills. This will also lead to further decentralization of the Zilliqa blockchain by expanding the number of miners globally.

• Gaming Hub: This gaming hub will offer distribution for a variety of skill-to-earn blockchain games, including WEB3WAR, with a focus on gameplay and intuitive design. It will be able to run on Windows, Mac, and Linux, and it will be the heart of the gaming console. Acting as a community, players can gain rewards and buy and sell within the gaming hub’s marketplace.

• Web3 Wallet: A crypto wallet will be embedded within the console or gaming hub, depending on what the player is using. This seamless integration will hide the complexity of Web3 from the end-user, creating a simpler process when onboarding non-crypto natives to the space. Players can move their tokens to fiat money and back into the player’s bank account for real-world rewards.

Zilliqa’s gaming ecosystem is rapidly growing thanks to partnerships with multiple gaming studios, like Alien Worlds and XBorg, that will bring in additional games while onboarding their large gaming communities. Zilliqa has also announced its first Web3 first-person shooter (FPS) game, WEB3WAR, and plans to continue its expansion into the blockchain gaming industry with eight more games currently in the works.

Early access to the gaming hub for beta testing will become available in October this year, while consumers will be able to pre-order the console in Q1 2023.
